Perry White? Charles Foster Kane? Jann Wenner? William Gaines? No, it?s just little old me, lucky enough to be involved with this wonderful entity since the beginning. And while I don't get to work with the likes of Spiderman, Hunter S. Thompson or Alfred E. Neumann, (and I'm not looking for a sled, either) I'm gonna count my blessings. Thankyouverymuch.

Editor here, or word-wrangler as I sometimes think of myself. When I started here I was the phone-answering, mail-sorting, data-entry sort of person, and the fact that I've been able to participate in all kinds of things for the Rag makes my current job all the more cool. I still feel lucky to work here. I also get to ride quite a bit with partner Ron and canine children Ivan and Viva, and play drums with coworker Shannon and bandmate Mark in Aydin. If you feel inspired to tell the world about your bike-related experiences, send them to me and they may end up in print.

Operations Manager, our "Sheriff" is what I do here. I keep the peace, test and write about products, and proof read the magazine before it reaches your hands. I'm passionate about music and bicycles and am fortunate enough to have both overflowing in my life. I play guitar in a space-rock band called Aydin, ride all types of bicycles, commute daily and enjoy life. I've worked in a handful of shops, traveled abroad, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and am now staring out the window, wishing I was riding instead of writing, or at least rolling around on the ground with my puppy.

Before moving to Pittsburgh I lived in Washington, DC working with public radio stations at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Now I'm lucky enough to sell advertising to support the fine work of Dirt Rag. I love all kinds of bicycles and just about any activity involving snow and/or Mexican food. If you want to reach active and involved die-hard mountain bikers with your product or event, give me a call. I'll be glad to help you out.

What do you need, partner? More exposure for you company or product? Need to buy an ad or two, or more? Sponsorship for your event? Just need to chat? Well, I'm your huckleberry. Commuting, touring, racing, mountain biking, family rides with the wife and kids all have a place in my heart. We've got a good crew here at Dirt Rag, and I'm glad to be a part of it.

Someone around here has to make sure our lovely publication makes the journey to your mailbox, local bike shop, or local bookstore. That's where I come in. Spreading the Dirt Rag love, far and wide, is what my job is all about. I've been reading Dirt Rag for nearly half of my years, and I'm super happy to be here contributing. Prior to this gig, I've spent my entire working career turning wrenches in various local shops. Bicycles are my passion, transportation, connection with nature, and sanity check all rolled into one. I feel fortunate to pay the bills doing something I love.

In There's a Monster at the End of this Book, Grover tries to prevent the reader from reaching the end, where a MONSTER is waiting. Turns out, Grover is the monster. It's a happy ending. As the Art Director, I'm in charge of putting the magazine together. I want you to keep turning pages. I work with an outstanding editor and staff. I utilize superb artists and photographers to bring the magazine to life. That's pretty much it. End of story. No Monster.

Originally from England, Pittsburgh has been home for about 20 years. For more than half of that time, I've been tinkering with all kinds of bicycles, dabbling in VW restoration, and hanging out with my wife, Maggie. These interests led me to a career in cycling with jobs ranging from bicycle shop manager, bike messenger, and mechanic. All the while the hunger and desire to learn everything I could about bikes pursued my thoughts. I think I've found something to do with all of my experiences and all of this stuff in my head, my position as the Fulfillment Guy at Dirt Rag.

I've enjoyed working in several different roles for Dirt Rag and Bicycle Times over the years: distribution manager, associate editor; online director and even editor for one issue. I'm currently the online editor for both magazines. That means I spend a lot of time writing about bicycle stuff, and a lot of time sitting in front of the computer. It's not all about the written word for me, though. I also guide the overall vision of the web sites and any other online venture we might launch.

I serve as the liaison between the industry and the editorial side of Dirt Rag for product reviews. I work with our Editor Karen Brooks to plan and coordinate product reviews. Our loyal readers count on us to deliver honest and insightful product reviews. I work with the industry, and our staff of product testers, to assure that Dirt Rag continues to produce the best product reviews in the business. My goal is to assure that our reviews consistently exceed our readers expectations.
